Wood the Loon 106 fit someone who is 6'3" about 190 lbs? Or would I be better off getting the Loon 126?

While the Loon 106 would be an option, I would suggest the Loon 120 or Loon 126 for more comfortable leg room.

does it have positive flotation if capsized?

Yes, it is designed with positive flotation and will stay afloat if capsized.

A skeg is a retractable fin at the stern (rear) that deploys downwards to improve the boat's directional stability, helping it track straight in wind, current, or waves by preventing "weathercocking" (turning into the wind). Unlike a rudder, a skeg doesn't pivot to steer; it's a "set it and forget it" tool, controlled by a cockpit lever, that provides stability, making long-distance touring easier, though its housing takes up storage space. I hope this helps!

Is the Loon 106 very tippy?

At 31" wide, the Loon 106 is a stable recreational kayak.

is there a transport cart available for the loon 106?

There are a few options on our site. Please see link below https://oldtownwatercraft.johnsonoutdoors.com/us/shop/accessories-parts/transportation/yakattack-townstow-bunkster-kayak-cart. You may also check out Malone racks as well at https://maloneautoracks.com/

Does this now come with the new style rear hatch that is locking instead of bungeed. And if so what are the benefits of the new hatch besides it being locked shut with the latch?

The locking hatch cover is the old style hatch, used prior to the current Quick Seal cover that uses bungees to hold it down. The bungee method offers a tighter, more secure, fit for the hatch cover.

I'm really interested in this model, will you have it back in stock soon?

This model is expected to be available in 2-3 weeks. You can also order through one of your local dealers. Hope this helps!

How would this boat be for someone that’s 6’3?

Hey Will, The Loon 106 should have plenty of interior space for you to fit. The only question would be leg length. See Foot Pedal Distances for the Loon Series, measuring from the back of the seat pan to the foot brace pad, min/max lengths. Hope this helps! Loon 106 - 30” to 46” Loon 120 - 34" to 49" Loon 126 - 32.5” to 48.5

What is the notched mount in the front of the console for?

The accessory rail on the front of the Look Dash is for mounting small accessory mounts that use 1/2 T-slot hardware.
