Old Town is proud to offer fast and reliable shipping direct from our factory in Old Town, Maine. Whether you order a replacement screw or a fleet of kayaks for the entire family, our dependable shipping and freight partners ensure quick and careful delivery. 

Order Processing & Fulfillment

Kayaks & Canoes

Most kayak and canoe orders are processed and shipped within 1-3 business days. Our team is currently shipping watercraft orders Monday-Wednesday. Watercraft orders placed Thursday-Sunday will process the following week. You will receive an email confirmation with a tracking number when your order ships.  

Accessory Orders

All accessory orders placed Monday-Thursday before 12 PM (EST) will begin processing and ship within 3 business days (holidays excluded), pending availability and credit card authorization. All accessory orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will begin processing, but will not ship until the following week.   

 

Shipping Kayaks & Canoes

Shipping a kayak or canoe is likely a new experience for many folks. While it may seem complicated, we’ve put together the following tips to help you through the process. If you have any questions, please contact us at any point in your order.  

What do I need to know about shipping a canoe or kayak?

  • Our watercraft are shipped using LTL (less than truckload) freight carriers. We do not ship kayaks through UPS or FedEx, and we cannot ship to PO boxes.
  • The carrier needs a phone number to schedule a delivery time. Please include a current phone number with your order. You will need to be there in person when the truck arrives. Boats are not delivered on weekends.  
  • Delivery is to the curb. The driver will unload the watercraft from the truck, but may not assist with moving the item into a garage or driveway.  

IMPORTANT: Inspect your watercraft thoroughly for shipping damage before signing a delivery receipt from the driver.  

If your watercraft’s packaging does not show signs of damage: Please sign the delivery receipt and keep a copy for your records.  The watercraft should be unwrapped and inspected within 48 hours of receipt. In the unlikely event you find concealed damage, please refer to your copy of the delivery receipt and contact the appropriate carrier to schedule a time for them to come and inspect the unit. Please keep all packaging and do not attempt to repair or conceal the damage to the boat.  

If your watercraft’s packaging shows visible signs of damage: Please unwrap the boat at that time to inspect for further damage to the boat itself. In the unlikely event that you find damage and are unwilling to accept it, you should not sign the delivery receipt, refuse the shipment due to damage, and contact the fulfiller as noted on the Bill of Lading or packing slip.

Note: If you order accessories like a paddle or life jacket, they will arrive in a separate shipment.

 

Shipping Accessories

We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Internationally. Please check our Dealer Locator to find a shop near you.  

All accessory orders must have a physical shipping address and contact number for delivery. Old Town uses FedEx and therefore we are unable to deliver to P.O. Boxes. 

Once your accessory order has shipped, you will receive an email confirmation that will include the FedEx tracking number for your package.  

If you decide to refuse a shipment, you are responsible for both the original shipping cost incurred and the cost of returning the package to us. We will subtract this amount from your merchandise refund.
