This rudder kit fits 2013 and newer models of the Dirigo Tandem Plus. THIS RUDDER KIT DOES NOT FIT THE TWIN HERON. The aluminum alloy used in our rudder can take lots of abuse, bending, and rebending before it breaks. When deployed you use the foot pedals to guide the kayak to the right or the left. A rudder is used for keeping your boat on track, especially when the weather conditions change. It can help make your journey safer and more enjoyable.
